Elisabeth Small and Friends - Sunday, September 17, 2006 - 4:00 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church/Nashville presents Elisabeth Small, violin; Paul Frankenfeld, viola; and Patrick Binford on cello in concert as they perform W.A. Mozart's Divertimento in E Flat Major for Violin, Viola and Cello on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
This concert is in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of W.A. Mozart. These musicians shall present a performance and discussion of the piece that is regarded as the cornerstone of Mozart's chamber works. Composed when Mozart was 31, the E Flat Major Divertimento represents the culmination of his compositional and instrumental virtuosity, and is an affirmation of spirituality. The piece is evidence of why Antonio Salieri believed that God spoke through Mozart's pen.
