The Reverend Dr. Todd B. Jones
Pastor
Email: Tjones@fpcnashville.org
Dr. Todd Jones began his work as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville, in March of 2002. Prior to that, Todd served as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, South Carolina, for eleven years. Born into a Christian family in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, Todd was raised in the church and became very active in Young Life in high school and later in college, while a student at the University of Pittsburgh. After college, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary, and was awarded by the faculty upon graduation a fellowship which he used to study theology for an additional year at Edinburgh University's New College Divinity School. Todd returned from Scotland and served four years as Associate Pastor in The Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, doing youth ministry. He served Westminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina, for seven years prior to moving to Spartanburg. All of these congregations experienced significant growth, attracting more people to the life of the church and deepening their discipleship and mission commitment. Todd has a passion for Biblically based, theologically informed, Christ-centered ministry where the community of faith seeks to be shaped by God's grace. Todd serves the larger church as a Trustee at Princeton Theological Seminary and Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. In Nashville, he serves on the Executive Board of the Middle Tennessee Boy Scout Council and on the Board for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee.
Todd is the father of two grown children, Josh, 28, married to the former Molly Jordan, who live in Charleston, South Carolina, and Sarah, 24, married to Kevin Blasek, who live in Peoria, Illinois. Todd is married to the former Connie King, a lifelong resident of Nashville, and they enjoy hiking, golf, travel, friends and family. |
